Concerns over the reform process related to health and disability benefits, including the “Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working” Green Paper and the Universal Credit Bill. We consider that this process has put fiscal considerations before international human rights requirements, with a disproportionate impact on the rights of persons with disabilities, particularly the right to an adequate standard of living and social security and the right to be closely consulted and involved in policymaking on issues that concern them. We are deeply concerned that the freezing and cuts to health and disability benefits have been proposed before the content and mitigating impacts of other proposed measures are know, thus signalling further retrogression in the availability and accessibility of social security for those at heightened risk of poverty. Information I have received concerning the refusal of visas to Palestinian officials to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September 2025, and the blanket suspensions of visitor visas for Palestinian nationals from the occupied Palestinian territories and other countries. I am concerned that the refusal of visas to Palestinian officials would violate international law, including by impeding the protection of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination; and that the suspension of visitor visas to Palestinian nationals involve unlawful discrimination on the basis of nationality.Alleged victims: - More details...

Information received concerning the arrest and prolonged arbitrary detention of artist Yaxia'er Xiaohelaiti, and the enforced disappearance of academic Rahile Dawut, both belonging to the Uyghurs communities. Both appear to be related with the legitimate exercise of their cultural rights and freedom of expression, and are alleged to be examples of a broader patterns of similar violations towards Uyghurs individuals in Xinjiang.Alleged victims: 2 More details...

Alleged victims: 2 More details...

Information received regarding alleged human rights violations, mercury poisoning and environmental degradation that may be linked, through their supply chains, to gold refining companies based and operating in the United Arab Emirates. The information received suggests that policy and regulatory gaps in the United Arab Emirates may increase the demand for gold. This could lead to increased pressure to mine gold, which would consequently lead to mercury pollution, exposure and environmental degradation, particularly in mining communities in countries where gold is mined.
