Informations reçues concernant les allégations de torture et autres peines ou traitements cruels, inhumains ou dégradants infligés à cinq civils, dont quatre d’entre eux seraient décédés en détention : M. Isaac da Gloria Lopes Afonso, M. Gonçalo Evaristo Bonfim, M. Isiquias Lopes Afonso et M. Arlécio Costa. Ces violences auraient été perpétrées par des membres des forces armées de Sao Tomé-et-Principe lors des événements du 25 novembre 2022. Nous avons également reçu des allégations, à la suite de ces évènements, faisant état de négligence à fournir des soins médicaux nécessaires aux personnes détenues, y compris à M. Informations reçues concernant Mme Sihem Bensedrine, ancienne présidente de l’Instance Vérité et Dignité (IVD), qui a été interdite de quitter le pays après avoir été inculpée dans le cadre d'une enquête sur le rapport final de cette instance qu'elle a présidée sur les crimes commis sous la dictature. Information received concerning the escalating administrative and judicial harassment of woman human rights defender Ms. Tran Phuong Thao, wife of imprisoned environmental human rights defender Dang Dinh Bach, as well as the continued incarceration of Mr. Dang Ding Bach himself, in connection with the exercise of their freedom of expression, environmental advocacy, and human rights activities, respectively.
