 Alleged forced evictions in the framework of the 2014 Football World Cup preparation and the 2016 Olympic Games and in the context of urban reforms aimed at beautification, gentrification and renovation in various cities in Brazil. According to information received, several communities have been evicted or are under imminent threat of forced eviction due to development projects in the cities of Curitiba, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. A previous communication has been sent on this issue (see A/HRC/18/51, BRA 8/2010).
