Information received concerning a worrying pattern of systematic undue restrictions and alleged human rights violations committed in the context of climate justice peaceful protests and the Palestinian solidarity peaceful activism across several cities in Germany, mainly in Berlin, which marks an alarming trend of escalation since October 2023. We are deeply concerned that at the time of writing this communication, we continue to receive similar patterns of abuse and that this is creating a chilling effect seriously restricting the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly, of association and of expression, and in the shrinking of civic space in general.
